When you hear “Swamp Pop,” these three Louisiana legends come to mind. Warren and Willie and their band originated in 1980 and continued for many years along with their weekly television show on KADN. They reunited in 2004 and began another era of their music. At this performance, they will be joined by T. K. Hulin, Charlene Howard and Bert Miller. Hulin has become a major figure in the music industry with a singing career that spans almost 50 years. Louisiana’s own song stylist, Charlene Howard, brings a dynamic sound to the microphone. Her unique style defies categorization, but instead is a blend of pop, R&B, Soul, Jazz, and Country. It is packed with the influences of Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Patsy Cline and more recent artists as Wynonna, Bonnie Raitt, and Jo Dee Messina. Add a splash of bayou water from Charlene’s Cajun roots and you have an exciting evening of memorable melodies and expressive soul.
